WDQuickViewPrefsPane.prefPane is not compatible.

I get the message that this is incompatible software. What should I do?

OS 10.9.4

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), for MY Book II External Hard Drive

Mac OS X 10.9 is 13 years newer than Classic. WD usually means Western Digital. Hard drive manufacturer software should be ignored. Instead erase the drive with Disk Utility GUID HFS+ if you want it to be Mac OS X bootable. See this tip on options of formatting:
